No remote access
I have been using the Readynas102 for over a year now, mostly for camera surveillance, streaming music and video. I have always been able to access everything remotely but now nothing, none of the port forwarding has been changed and I can create a server on my PC, so I know it is possible to have remote access.
I have tried setting back to factory default numerous times, for the first few minutes I can use HTTP/HTTPS access, then I get "server stopped responding " also I cannot log into the Plex server anymore.
Locally everything works, if I am on my own network, even if I address the external IP and port. It is as though the ports on the Readynas will not accept a connection when coming from outside.
Please help or if someone needs to buy a door stop with hard drives, let me know
This has been since the upgrade to 6.2.2, I have downgraded again but no change.
Been in touch with Netgear who have given me no help whatsoever but will do a one off fix for 76 euros.
I think I will cut my losses and invest in a more reliable brand ( this one has been irritating to say the least since day one)
If anyone can recommend a NAS that can run Plex and can easily be accessed remotely, I would be very thankful.

- RXLuminaryIf it was working before, were there any changes made to your existing network?
Try to set Google DNS to your NAS: 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4
You may want to try the Beta FW v6.2.3 and that might help: viewtopic.php?t=78866 - MJT1GuideNo, that is what is so frustrating, the whole system seems very unstable now, I have tried to back up photos on RCloud, it seems to be working very fast but there is actually nothing on the Nas
- NhellieVirtuosoTry accessing it using https://wan ip:8080/admin (note that if you are not using 8080, you have to use the port number you have specified)
- MJT1Guideok tried all 3 but no luck, I just keep getting server not responding
- NhellieVirtuosouh-oh might be something deeper,
did you test it from the inside of your home network or from a remote pc?
There's a trick to restart the webserver on older units before, let's try it on your unit. Just, unplug the ethernet cable on the NAS and put it back after 5-10 seconds. - MJT1Guideremote PC(Teamviewer)
I think somehow the ports are blocked for internet access - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserYou mean you used a remote PC to connect to a local PC with Teamviewer, and then ran the web browser remotely (on the local PC)?
If so, it has nothing to do with internet access. - MJT1GuideI use a pc on my local network to access the remote pc, using Teamviewer, then try and connect to the server with Rcloud, ip address and password etc but I just get no response from server. if I try and set up Plex on the server, Plex says "there is a problem logging into Plex" when I try to add the Nas as a server.
when I am on my local network, I can access everything - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserOk. So the teamviewer destination PC is the one that isn't on your local LAN.
Remote access to plex requires that TCP port 32400 to be forwarded in your firewall.
Are you willing to forward ports to get remote access, or is readycloud essential to you? - MJT1GuideI am forwarding all the ports but still get "server stopped responding" the settings have worked for over a year, it's the HTTP access I want most. Plex has the port but will not connect from my Plex account to the server
