No volume exists
I recently had a drive fail. I've been using Netgear NAS's for almost 20 years, replaced numerous disks when alerted that there were increasing SMART errors. But this time I had no warning and only a...

I backed up all the data and cold swapped disk 5. Rebooted and under "status -> health" it kept showing the old disk. I then hot swapped disk 5. It resync'd and now all disks are green and the volume is green but still says "No volume exists" when I try to access backups, shares, etc.

Ordinarily I would just factory reset and restore from back up but about 5-10% of my back up didn't copy.

there might be issues with disk 1 as well. Any help would be appreciated.
You might have to live with some data loss.
I think the next step is to download the full log zip file, and try to figure out what's going on. mdstat.log will show you the status of the RAID array. Looking for disk-related and file-system related errors in system.log and kernel.log would offer some clues.
Another thing you could do is test the disks. You can do that by connecting them to a Windows PC, and using vendor tools (lifeguard for Western digital; seatools for the Seagate). If ssh is enabled, you can also test them using smartctl (leaving them in the NAS).

Appreciate the help. There are all kinds of errors in those files. I can't make heads nor tails of them. I've attached a kernel file from 3/18/21 (after hot swap) and 2/21/21 (before hot swap). The other files look similar.

One option is to send a private message to the mods ( JohnCM_S or Marc_V ) and ask them to take a look. You send a private message using the envelope icon in the upper right of the forum page. Some other folks here might also be willing to look at them.
Upload the full log zip to cloud storage (google drive, onedrive, dropbox, etc). Include the download link in your PM, as well as a link to this forum thread.
Don't post the log zip publicly.
