I am not sure if you would see a performance benefit - that might depend on when you did your initial install (and what firmware you were running).
Though since your setup is simple, and you don't have a lot of data to preserve, it is easiest to do the factory default. All you need to do is power down, and install all four empty drives. After the initial setup, reinstall any addons, reconfigure shares and any users, and you are done.
