It could just be a bad/failing PSU. Please post your serial number, as there are some units that have a known-problem with the PSU. If the unit has a serial number in the known-range, you should call support for your area. From what I understand, each Netgear regional area determines whether or not it will be covered if it's outside of the warranty period. I know those folks that live in North America have had the PSU replaced free-of-charge, even if it's out of warranty.
FWIW, it happened to me, too: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=45731&p=260466#p260466 and the PSU was replaced free of charge.
