OS 6.5 SMB - Workgroup - Setting user admin password
Hi,
How can I set an admin password for SMB user admin when the access type is "local users"? The default password is <blank>, meaning anyone can access shares via SMB with a blank admin password!
In the Accounts -> Authentication tab of OS 6.5 the password field for user "admin" is blocked from entry when the "Access Type" pop-up is set to "Local Users".
I note that for AFP shares the admin password is automagically set to the same password as the frontview admin user password
Thanks

Pretty certain I'd done that - otherwise the AFP share wouldn't be asking me for the admin password...
But I've entered it again on the "admin password" tab, and that is now causing OS X 10.11.5 to ask for a password for SMB access. Will check whether my windows machnes are prompting for a password for user admin.
