I don't recommend spanning the RAID-0 volume over two disks, as a failure of either drive will cost you all the data. You are better off taking the time to balance the space usage manually.
However, my main point is that OS6 has a bug here. When you are in flexraid mode, and choose to create a volume with one disk it does tell you that is RAID-1. It is GUI confusion, as the volume is clearly RAID-0.
