parameters incorrect

Good morning/afternoon all,

I'm new to the forums but I'm not getting much help from Tech support or Google searches. I have a very common problem from I have seen but none of the recommended fixes seem to work.

I purchased a ReadyNAS 1500 to store digital images at my healthcare facility. We used an old computer to store the images before. I got the NAS connected to the domain, created a share and copied the folder with the images from the old computer to the NAS. It took a few hours but everything ended up working great. However, I'm trying to add 2 users from the domain to have full control of the share and its subfolder. I keep getting a error saying “The parameter is incorrect”.

I followed the posts I found on this site most notably http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=44778 but nothing has helped. Is there any other stuff I can try? I started an online ticket but no one has called back. The ticket number is 16731980.

Thanks

  • OK Netgear.... I just bought 2 ReadyNas 2100... From what I've read, I think it's a great product... I have mentioned many times to my boss how wonderful this product is and that it's going to be money well spent...

However, I spent today setting it up... Everything was fine.... except for the permission issue.... I'm also getting the Parameter is INcorrect message. I have been reading online for over 6 hours, even the 9 page thread: http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=44778&start=120

You guys have great support and documentation... What happened to this resolution?? Is it in another thread somewhere?? The problem dates back to 2010 v.4.2.5.. that's really old?? i'm astonished that I have v.4.2.19 ... that's 19 vs 5 = 14 versions to fix this problem... and about a year and a half....

Please let me know the resolution.... I'm working this weekend to set this up by Tuesday (10/11/11)...
    thanks
