Password for Locked Hard Drives
Hi, The Readynas Pro I have has locked 6 of my hitachi hard drives with a password. Can any one tell me how the Readynas generates it's password to lock it's drives? and how I could save my drives...
I think you need to give some more information regarding the drive models you are using.
From what you write, it reads as if you have used drives that have full-disk encryption: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disk_encryption
If that is the case, then as you say, you need to know what the ReadyNAS does when asked for a password. This might require a call/email with support to help you out.
