Password for Locked Hard Drives
Hi, The Readynas Pro I have has locked 6 of my hitachi hard drives with a password. Can any one tell me how the Readynas generates it's password to lock it's drives? and how I could save my drives...
I'm in the same situation with a Pro 4. Expansion interrupted due to power failure. The result: system can't boot, it says "Bad disk detected".
I put the problematic first HDD in a PC and figured out it has been locked by the NAS. I tried using MHDD (with ASCII codes above) and hdparm (with input redirected from .bin file above) to unlock it but with no result. MHDD says "Fail", hdparm says "Input/output error".
Is there any way to unlock this drive without data loss? Tried to connect it to a SATA addon card and onto the motherboard, result is the same.
