Please help me to restore deleted files
Hello, Accidentally I deleted a folder from a share with important video files from my son, 7.5 GB where gone in 2 seconds :(. The files where on a ReadyNAS Ultra 2 with firmware version: RAIDiato...

I don't have experience of your particular model but you did the right thing. Normally the data is not deleted just the references, so any Linux recovery too should - in theory - be able to recover them. I use TestDisk / Photorec and that is always good at finding the data that is there.
The important thing is not to format, not to write to and not to use other than recovery. AND recover files to a different location before putting back in NAS to re-sync
Once that's done - or whilst it's working - have a look at Symform, Crashplan or similar.
As Jean Reno(almost) says in the Big Blue : "Okay. You tell me. How much would you say a man's data is worth?"
