Pro pioneer 2TB -> 3TB disks
Is it possible to online swap 2TB disks for 3TB disks (or 4TB :-)) yet ? I seem to recall having to factory default when swapping to larger disks, I'd need a 2nd NAS to be able to store all the data ...

I said RAID-6 is not a substitute for backup which is different from saying that a RAID-6 array is not suitable for backup. I'd never trust my data to a single device, even if it is running RAID-6.

I back up my Pro-6 (which uses RAID-5) to my older NV+ and Duo NAS. I also back it up to the cloud using Crashplan, which provides off-site protection against fire,theft,etc. For many years now my strategy has been to have at least 3 copies of everything. The media has changed over the years (rewritable DVD, USB hard drives, and now NAS+cloud). So far I haven't lost any data since I started using that strategy.
PapaBear similarly backs up his NAS to a second NAS, and rotates a USB drive off-site for his critical data.
