Proftpd is not a known service (and connection problems)
Hi,
So after being able to set up my NAS the way I wanted, I tried to configure it as a FTP server.
So I ssh in the NAS changes /etc/proftpd/proftpd.conf to be able to have User and Anonymous access (which I did).
But then I tried to do
But the console told me that proftpd was not a known service... And indeed it also does not appear in /etc/init.d/so I don't know what to do...
I also may have a connection problem with my NAS. It doesn't seem to be able to connect to the Internet (for instance I can't download any add-on or update the integrated antivirus).
I may need to add that by default only the usual port are opened (80,443,22,21,...).
Let me explain I am at my school campus (in France), my NAS is linked to the campus network via a switch. All the computers while in the LAN we have have fixed IPs like 10.xx.xxx.xxx (and everyone has one fixed public IP), but when it boots my NAS (via his own DHCP I presume) takes an IP like 169.xxx.xxx.xxx, so I'm quite confused.
We have an FTP indexer and I believe it can't see me because of it.
If you need any other information that may help you understand feel free to ask.
EDIT : Sorry I forgot to mention that I have a RN104.
EDIT 2 : Nevermind about the IP adress problem, I managed to correctly setup my NAS ethernet card (I think) and can now access it almost correctly (it is only visible when I am on my own small LAN behind my switch).
