Proper way of reducing fan speeds

Hello,

now that ReadyNAS OS 6 has smart fan speed control built in, what would be best way to reduce fan speeds at the cost of increased system temp? Installing fanspeedcontrol would conflict with builtin control.

Are there any config files for builtin fan speed control which can be edited?

The fan speed should automatically reduce gradually if the temps fall and remain below a threshold.

The Ultra 4 fan needs to run reasonably quick to keep the PSU cool.

      Hello,

I am aware of that, and yet I would like to make them run slower, how can that be done?

heat will shorten hard drive life, also affect cpu, motherboard, memory and power supply longevity

suggest not even think about reducing fan speed
