PS3 V3.70 & DLNA 1.0.21 not working

Hiya I have recently updated my PS3 a few weeks ago to the latest PS3 firmware in the UK to 3.70 ever since doing so, I cannot view the ReadyNas Duo DLNA Server.

This was all working perfectly fine before I updated my PS3 firmware, which you are forced to do when signing onto the PS3 network.
So I did a quick scan through the forums here and saw my DLNA FrontView addon was an older version so I updated the DLNA addon to 1.0.21 and I still have had no luck.

I know the DLNA sever is still working as I can view the folders & files from the DLNA server using an iPad application called AirPlay and the videos play perfectly fine from that.

So it seems likely it is the PS3 firmware has borked it as opposed to anything else.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Cheers,
Warren

  • Hey all,
Well after hearing nothing back I presume I am the only one currently experiencing this problem.
Is there anyway to debug this problem or check any logs like that, to see if the cause can be found.

    Cheers,
    Warren
  • So I have the same issue. How do you work the debug version? I loaded it but the logs don't show any activity even after stop/starting the service.
  • Hi I had the same problem. I stopped and restarted the DLNA service on the NV+ and it sprang into life.

I have a PS3 and the DLNA module with the latest firmware for both. Whenever there is a problem with the DLNA service I rescan all media and the PS3 works. When was the last time the NV+ was rebooted?
  • Warren - did you get anything working?

I'm currently trying to get streaming to PS3 working for the first time (had the NAS a couple of months), found this thread.
No sign of any media server on the XMB. Restarting ReadyDLNA makes no difference. Using Search for Media Servers returns No media servers were found...
PS3 fw v3.70, now running readydlna 1.0.21 debug as suggested by brownujr. upnp-av.log contains sensible looking messages during service startup, then nothing but:
    [2011/09/01 19:04:17] minissdp.c:341: debug: Sending SSDP notifies

PS3 has a wired connection and was happily streaming from the server that the NAS replaced... :(

Anybody got any clues/magic solutions? :)

    Thanks,
    Al.
  • Thanks for all the replies, before I saw your responses I decided to do a RSync to see if this may help resolve the problem, but in doing so it seems to have caused some issues with my ReadyNas DUO.

With it locking me out & having issues connecting to FrontView etc, so I think the problem may run a little deeper than just the DLNA service for now.
Will keep you posted once I have the DUO booting up properly.

    Cheers,
    Warren
