RAIDar not finding ReadyNAS Ultra

I have just purchased a ReadyNAS Ultra 6, connected it to my network, verified it has an IP address that is in the same subnet as my workstation, and still the RAIDar software does not find my NAS no matter how many times I scan/rescan. I am running Windows 7 Pro. I have turned off the firewall in Windows and checked that nothing is being blocked in the router (a Netgear DGN2200). I have tried both the RAIDar version that came with my NAS, version 4.2, and the latest downloaded version, 4.3, from the Netgear site.

Any ideas as to what might be causing RAIDar not to see the NAS?

Can you see the NAS in RAIDar if you directly connect your NAS to your PC (checking this will help isolate where the issue is)?

RAIDar depends on broadcast packets for NAS discovery. Your router might be blocking these packets, esp. if your PC is connected over WiFi.

I agree that direct connect would help you diagnose.

RAIDar is only rarely needed btw. If you are happy with xraid2, you can log in to frontview and not set up the box - postponing the RAIDar issue for another day.
