RAIDiator 5.3.7 duo v2 - unaccessible
Ok I've been running this for about a week now and this is the second time my NAS is "on" but not accessible. I can ping it but not access anything on it - frontview or any of the shares. Not...

Dear Forum Members
I recently bought a ReadyNAS Duo v2 and started using it on 6th December 2012, so I have only ever used the device with firmware 5.3.7, and from the start the user rights have never worked properly. I can create shares with default rights, no problem, but when I add specific user rights to those shares (or any share) the next day the user rights no longer work and I am locked out of my shares. The only way to regain access is to re-tick default user rights "Everyone" and "Allow Anonymous access", which defeats the whole object of restricting access to certain users and specific shares.
I have, with the help of tech support, re-installed the NAS's O/S, this has not worked in fact it has made things slightly worse.
There is no doubt, from what has been written earlier, that firmware 5.3.7 has introduced a bug that has a negative affect on how shares interact with user rights.
At the moment I am awaiting a solution from tech support, which I believe will have to be in the form of a firmware update or patch (that's if they are working on one).

PS. BTW, my PC system is as follows: WinXP Pro SP3 O/S, 2 x 640GB HD (C:\ & D:\ drives), 4GB Ram, Gigabyte GA-H55M UD2H Motherboard and my modem-router is a Thomson TG587n v2.
