Yes I’m sure my experience would be the same. They are very expensive though and apart from these little issues with my Readynas devices they are also very reliable - I have 3 in operation a primary 316 as well as an Ultra 6 and NV+ which still run perfectly doing backups.

Completely agree. I have the 314 and also a ReadyNAS Duo V1. They represent some of the best quality and well built hardware I have owned.
My annoyance with Netgear is on the way they dumped NAS. And leaving me to use my 314 as an Rsync target when it's still capable of so much more than a simple backup target and bookend!
With you on the pricing too. It's been too high. I've seen the DS923 selling for €300 to 400 more than I paid 12 months ago.
