ReadyNAS 3138 - Discard volume(s) - inaccessible volumes help

A power failure or a hardware glitch could account for it. As I noted in the PM, there are two CMD timeouts (one for each disk) that show up in smart_history.log shortly after the failure.
BTW, I was thinking that perhaps your 3138 was one of the ones included in this service note:
But I checked your NAS serial number, and it is not in the range given in the note.
I did not.
The disk tray seemed to be in place when I got to it, after noticing that all the TimeMachine backups to the NAS were failing.
(This was a few days later.)

(Someone servicing the rack could have brushed it by mistake, but that seems extremely unlikely, given the motion needed to pull out the tray. I don't have a tech service ticket that day, but we did have someone quoting us recently.)
