    I replied to your PM.  

     

    A power failure or a hardware glitch could account for it.  As I noted in the PM, there are two CMD timeouts (one for each disk) that show up in smart_history.log shortly after the failure.

     

    BTW, I was thinking that perhaps your 3138 was one of the ones included in this service note:

    But I checked your NAS serial number, and it is not in the range given in the note.
