ReadyNAS 516 and OS 6.5.0 slow to the point of unusable
this issue surfaced for me with OS 6.4. The workaround then was to turn off Virus checking and ultimately a firmware update. Now, with 6.5.0 the issue has returned. I am getting transfer rates of 3...

I tried disabling the IPv6 and it didn't transfer any files at all.
Really? That is quite strange. You are using IPv6 instead of IPv4 (aren't using xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx ip addresses)?

I just noticed that the slow transfer speed is particularly related to transferring (moving and copying) files from one folder to another inside the NAS. Sometimes, a transfer would just stall at one point and continue after a few minutes. It does not matter if it's a 9MB or a 150MB file. Sometimes the 9MB one would stall and prolong the transfer significantly.
You are doing these copies from a PC? If so, the data flow is from the NAS to the PC, and then back to the NAS.
Your problem seems different from the others here. Can you start your own thread for it?

Hi,
I was looking for 6.5 feedback before jumping...
This thread is full of assumptions....
Why no info about the file protocol : SMB, AFP, NFS, FTP.....
Why no info about connectivity : switch, wireless, ethernet, speed...
Then, file move over SMB to the same share are handeld by the server, NOT THE CLIENT. One cool thing about Samba.
However, we don't know if this is this kind of "file move"....
