If you have a USB enclosure, or can connect it to a Windows machine, you can use the fast write test in WDC's Lifeguard diagnostic. Or right-click on "computer" and select "manage" Then delete the partitions from the Windows disk manager.
If the RN102 is empty, then it might reformat the drive for you. If it doesn't, then there is a way to force the factory reset from the front panel. The procedure is in the hardware manual (pages 15-16 here: http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/ ... pr2013.pdf)
