Mar 22, 2013Readnas DLNA streaming Setup for Android help required
I would like to set up Streaming Music and Video files that I have as Shares on my Readynas Duo v2. This works fine on my Samsung TV via Allshare and also I can see and access the Files from my wireless Win 7 laptop via My Computer. The problem I'm having is trying to access the Share "Media" from my Samsung Galaxy S2 with ReadyDLNA installed it just stalls at the connecting stage, Readynas Remote works fine from my phone even via WiFi Internet when I'm out and about but not the ReadyDLNA App either on my own home LAN or when I'm using WiFi elsewhere. Some Guidance on what File sharing Protocols/Permissions I need to set up would be helpful, I do tick FTP, Https etc and set File Permissions to "Everyone" for the folders I want to view remotely ? I did have it working but changed a setting but Can't remember what!
Or maybe its just the Android Readynas DLNA App is rubbish as it had a poor rating on the Google Play store! :(
Thanks in advance Simon

- lemvighAspirantIt's not entirely clear to me, what you are trying to achieve, but if it is just playing music and video from the DLNA server on your Android phone, I would recommend that you try out the BubbleUPnP app - it's a fine DLNA client.
- Retired_MemberThankyou very much for that I will check that out. Streaming music to my phone is excatly what I want to do.The Netgear Android App is rubbish.
Cheers - Retired_MemberThanks lemvigh I forgot to ask what you use as the Third party server software installed on your NAS, I did try Plex installed as an Add-on but it took ages to scan files.
Cheers - Retired_MemberIts a long while since I posted the previous questions, but for those that are interested I solved the Readynas Remote and Readydrop issues on Android by accident! I purchased an Asus RT66U router which has some brilliant software Apps. AiCloud which allows me to browse any of the devices on my Home Network ie my Duo v2 and also the router can have 2 external Hard Drives plugged in to it. Music, Movies, Pictures etc. are all accessible.
