Ready NAS NV+ v2 ERR Could not properly extract

I am having the same issue as a few other here but can't figure out the solution.

I went to perform a factory reset on my device and now I am receiving the error message that "ERR Could not properly extract".  It has stayed in this state ever since and I am not sure how to resolve it.

Thanks in advance!

  • The OS on the flash was corrupt which is unusual for the NV+ v2. It's now fixed.

      Hi.

Thanks for the reply.  It is a V2 as noted in the subject.  Front states V2 and the back panel match the V2 configuration provided in the link.

Ok.  From the symptoms it sounds like you need to use a USB recovery procedure.  Netgear documents that for most NAS models, but unfortunately not for yours.

I suggest contacting support. That might be covered by the 3-year warranty, but you might need to get per-incident support.

Perhaps wait a bit, and see if any netgear employees know of a KB article for USB recovery that I somehow missed (it is a holiday weekend in the US, so it might take longer than usual).
