I don't have much experience with Win 8.Though where I'd start on the PCs is deleting any credentials in the windows credentials manager, and re-entering the credentials you want to use with the NAS.
Then connect with \\NASNAME in windows explorer (and not bother with anything you see under network).
It might also be useful to enable ssh, and check the OS partition (which can't be done any other way).
