ReadyNAS 102 - Addition of second drive for redundancy
Originally set up with one WD 4TB disk (green). NAS Firmware version 6.4.2 Recently bought another WD disk (identical model number). Plan to add disk into x-raid for resiliance. Powered down NAS....
The issue turned out to be a DOA disk. I've since RMA'd it and sourced another. Inserted and added new, working HD, to volume without issue.
You should be seeing the disk on the volume page (and also seeing the disk detection in the log). Note you will still only see one volume there, but you should see both disks in the NAS chassis graphic in the center.
What firmware are you running?
FWIW, it is somewhat better to hot-insert the disk (with the NAS running).
Firmware 6.4.2
I only see the original disk in the chassis image.
Perhaps try removing and reinserting the new disk with the NAS running, and see what happens.
Be very careful to remove the correct drive!
