ReadyNas 102 Backup Set-up problems

Hi all,

I am a new owner of a readynas 102, I am quite computer/network literate however I am stumped at trying to create a backup from my PC G drive to the NAS. Whatever I enter into the source - Path, Login & password it fails. Can someone please assist me in what the Path etc.. needs to be ?

I have successfully managed to copy the drive across manually however I want this to backup regularly.

Many thanks !

The first thing to realize is that the backup jobs deal with shares not drives.

Have you created network shares on the PC?
  • Thanks Steve yes I have set-up a share, I am slightly confused what do I need to put in as host & path is the host my ip address of the PC then the path /g/music for example or is the host my computer name ? When I try testing the connection I always get Failed connecting to folder ?

Also is the login & password the login & password that I use to login to my pc or is this optional on the folder/share ?

    Thanks for you Help

If you created a network share g, try "g/music"

However if you created a network share music you would just try "music" as the path.

The login would be your PC login (or another login in your PC that has been given access to the share).
