Readynas 104: access from PC in ethernet
Hi All
I have a readynas 104 and a PC connected to the same access point in my home ethernet. The connection seems fine:
- both machines access interet (i just updated the firmware on the readynass)
- other tablet\pc I have on the home wifi can access files inside the readyNas
- i can access admin page on readynas from the PC
but from my PC I cannot access the files in readynas unless I allow for guest access. I hadn't this problem before last windows11 update in november. I'd like to access with a normal user\password exchange but it doesn't give me the option.
How should I proceed?
thanks,
Stefano

By default, Windows will present your windows login to the NAS as your username. It sounds like that username doesn't exist on your NAS.
One option is to go into the windows credential manager, and enter a NAS username for the NAS IP address and hostname. If you leave the password blank, Windows should prompt for it. If you use a Microsoft account on the PC, you should use this option.
If you are using a local PC account, then you can also set up a NAS account that has the same username.
