Those instructions are for old sparc based readynas devices. Did you read the qualifying statement / warning at the bottom of that page?
Do you have a backup of the data on the nas?
Don't' keep trying what you are doing, you'll probably make things worse.
The only thing you could try is removing the disks( with power off) , putting in one spare disk, then factory defaulting the nas. If you still get the error, the it's probably the flash that is the problem.
I don't know the procedure for USB boot recovery for the newer readynas devices and I won't be able to remotely fix this.
There may be someone on the forums who can help you and as I said, if not, you will need to contact support. You may need to pay them.
