READYNAS 104 Firmware 6.5.1 not syncing with dropbox anymore

Hello Everyone,

 

I have been having this problem for a while and finally decided to post this question. I have a dropbox account and I have it selected to sync with a share I have created. After a while it stops syncing at all and I have to remove the access of the ReadyNAS off of dropbox and then completely readd it for it to sync, sometimes that doesn't even work though. I don't think I have the file permissions as such to prevent this and the date and time are correct on the ReadyNas. I am willing to troubleshoot this with whatever you all can suggest. Thank you for the help in advance!

    Hello bwalk10,

     

    Did you already reboot the NAS and test this?

     

    Did you try turning off DropBox then turn it back on and log in again?

      Hello JennC,

       

      Yes I have turned dropbox off and then back on, logged in and nothing happens. This used to work, but now for whatever reason it no longer does.

        What is the previous FW version of the NAS?

         

        Also, can you describe it more please, which one is not working? The NAS' share to DropBox or DropBox to NAS share?

    At this moment I don't remember the previous firmware for the NAS. As for the direction it won't sync, it is from the NAS to the Dropbox.

      Thanks for the information that you've provided. Was this evident if you will sync it on another (newly created) share? I don't see this problem on my end.

  • Hello,

    The problem is coming from any share that has been on my dropbox before. I had to other shares that I hadn't backed up to dropbox yet and so I tried those, both synced the first time but didn't sync anytime after the initial one.

      Hello bwalk10,

       

      When you log in to DropBox URL and get to Recents on the left panel, do you not see your NAS' hostname? The folder should show as hostname-sharename and will show the date and time it last backed up.

       

      I tried this on my own unit here and did get the same problem too.

    It doesn't show up as syncing for a long time. I see the other shares I synced for the first time the other day, but I keep scrolling down and I don't see where my main has synced for awhile..

    Can you please elaborate. It is able to sync the other shares that have never been synced before, just not update any share that has been already synced in the past.

      Hello bwalk10, 

       

      I was asking if the NAS is really online that can get to the Internet. Can you try creating a new share and add some simple files then go back to DropBox then select that share only to sync?

  • My NAS is online, I can create a new Share and sync it for the first time. Smaller shares can sync, my main can't. It has more than enough space on both the NAS and dropbox. It has a sync button it the NAS browser UI.

      Are you using a free subscription to DropBox? It could be there is no enough space in your DropBox account.
