    Hello rn204,

Can you please check if you will be able to get boot it to Volume Read Only from the boot menu? If you are able to, then back up the data.

If you cannot, you may need to contact support team for this.

    Regards,

      Hi JennC,

booting is not the problem at all.

The ReadyNas can be powered off by pulling the power cable out of the socket.

When the power cable is conected again, the readynas boots normal and all functions are available (normal boot mode).

The only problem is the shut down.

Please advise what to do, so that the readynas shuts down without error.

      Thanks

        Hello rn204,

I see. Well, still II suggest you back up the data since you can access the NAS. It is not a good idea storing imoprtant data to just one storage. I would suggest to manually update the firmware after the backup, you may get the firmware from here.

Once done and you still get the same problem, contact support to have hardware check as some users who get this problem end up getting chassis replacement.
