ReadyNAS 312 backup to USB
Very simple question (Sorry!). I am not in a position to test, a customer has asked before purchasing a 312 whether the contents of the USB disk used to backup a ReadyNAS (e.g. via scheduled job or ...
It could also be formatted as ext, but that is also easily mounted.
You don't need to enable/use USB backups, You can back it up over the network using Acronis or other tools that support encrypted backup sets.

Yes, I guess so. Thanks for the advice, there are some excellent (although pricey) external USB HDD with keypads on them out there too that I'll present as a possible solution.
