ReadyNAS 3220 unaccessable from network
Greetings,
I am having an issue that I haven't been able to find a solid answer to. Alright, as I stated, I have a ReadyNAS 3220. We have several shares on it, including a backup, Documents, and even a test folder I just created named TestFolder. I made sure the permissions on it were correct according to the manual I have.
Here is my scenario. I am able to access the web console on the ReadyNAS 3220 that is running Firmware 6.1.9. I am able to manipulate and modify folders, backup schedules, everything I need to from the web console. I am not, however, able to access the ReadyNAS from windows explorer at all. I have tried mapping the drive, direct accessing it through the run command and opening windows explorer. I have attempted:
\\<IP Address>\data\<Folder Name>\
\\<IP Address>\data\<Folder Name>
\\<IP Address>\data\
\\<IP Address>\data
\\<NAS Name>\data
\\<NAS Name>\data\
\\<NAS Name>\data\<Folder Name>
\\<NAS Name>\data\<Folder Name>\
as well as a few other schemes. The fun part is, I get a better response from using the ReadyNAS' name rather then IP. IF I get a response, it is usually "Cannot access the File, check the name" or similar errors. I also, sometimes, get the username/password prompt and when I put those in, windows explorer goes white, like it is not responding, then closes. We have it on an AD controlled network. I am able to ping the NAS, obvious since the web interface works, but no one on the network can actually access it through windows explorer. Once every about 20 tries I can log in and it says the Admin account on the NAS isn't a valid username or password.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
T

The "data" share is only accessible by the admin, not ordinary users.
If the admin login isn't working, have you ever changed the admin password yet? If not, can you give that a try.
Sounds like the domain join may not have been successful.
Is the time on the NAS synced with the Domain Controller?
Do you have the DNS settings etc. on the NAS set to point to the Domain Controller?
