ReadyNAS 426 Windows cannot access my NAS Error code: 0x80070035
Hello friends, I hope you're all keeping safe! (I'm also hoping enough are able to be online to help me with my questions!) I am having some serious network issues; my NAS becomes inaccessible on...

Do you ever see this error when you use \\NAS-IP-ADDRESS?
Maybe try that the next time you see the error.

aHey StephenB, good to see you here. I would have replied earlier but on top of network probs, I had a flood. Yay.
Appreciate your help. it just happened to me again today. It went like this:
Trying to access my NAS.
I get the error code 0x80070035: the network path was not found.
I tried typing in \\nasname - same error
I tried pinging from a command prompt - it says destination host unreachable.
This happened right after using remote desktop with one of the PCs on the network.
More information, may or may not be important:
1. my network map is, roughly: a router, and ProSafe Gigabit switches. I have both NAS and PCs connected to the switches. Like this:
router
|_prosafe switch
|_PC or NAS
|_PC or NAS
|_prosafe switch
|_PC or NAS
|_PC or NAS
|_prosafe switch
.....etc.
2. The PCs are Windows 10 pro. I'm not using any 3rd party antivirus anymore, just Windows Security. I do run SpyBot Anti-Beacon.
As it is now, when I get this problem bad enough, the only fix is to power cycle my entire network, PCs and NASs. I have suspicions about Windows Update and Windows Security.
Any help and advice you can offer is greatly appreciated as always. Stay safe, be well

Are you pinging the IP address or the hostname?
Also, are you assigning static IP addresses in the NAS, or using DHCP (perhaps with address reservation)?

Ouch.

You too.
Massachusetts is beginning re-opening, so we'll see what happens over the next couple of weeks.

I was pinging the IP address.

I'm looking in the router ctl panel right now and I see in the DHCP tab I have a DHCP Client Table with Enabled Static DHCP IP; so I think the answer is yes.

So that rules out hostname resolution, and it also makes duplicate IP addresses unlikely.
Ping not working isn't good news, so that should be tracked down. Since you have multiple switches, see if you can test from a PC on the same switch. There are some tools out there that will do continuous ping tests (gping being one of several). Maybe try using one of those.
