Readynas 428 disk showing in black color

Disks are added to the array one at a time, so you might just wait until the first finishes syncing, and see if it moves on to the second.
Did you ever have a 3 TB drive installed in the NAS before? Normally added disks need to either be >= to the largest disk installed, or match the size of an existing disk.
Assuming all three disks eventually sync, you might want to post mdstat.log (after syncing is finished), and let us know the final volume size. Than we can confirm if you actually have RAID-6 on all the RAID groups in the volume. I have seen some posts in the past where users ended up with RAID-6 on one RAID group, and RAID-1 or RAID-5 on another.
