ReadyNAS 516 6.1.4 with Maverick Folder content disapears

Hi

Everything worked perfect before maverick was installed. 10.8

Now when you go into any folder in the NAS, it sees the folders for 20 seconds then it just shuts you out of the folder list and its content. (goes blank) You have to reboot Maverick to see the folder again then drops out. Same happen on 6.1.3 and 6.1.4

Thanks

Nick

  • After the fix for Time Machine with Maverick and 6.1.4, I noticed the exact same problem as you describe. I thought it was related to SMB/afp. But this problem occurred in both file sharing protocol. By the way is there any advice to not open APF and SMB at the same time ? It was like this with 4.2.x and I wonder if the same advice exists for 6.1.x.
But back to your pbolem I read this :
    http://www.macworld.com/article/2059577 ... -tips.html
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/23468755#23468755

As surprising as it seems, the problem probably relies inside the Finder itself !!
I didn't erased the plis because i don't want to loose the settings of all the windows, but you can try to open another folder or change the folder is organized to give ti a try.
I don't know for sure if my problem is the same as describe on these pages because when I tried to copy even 3 file of 2MB each to the readynas, it froze for sometimes for long as 1-2 minute.

Some others said that there is a problem with Mavericks's default protocol being SMB2 and this causes problems. (http://www.macg.co/os-x/2013/10/maveric ... -maj-77609). But the update explains that it could be related to the permissions : https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic ... 0R5-WTGIrM .

I hope on of the like could help you figure it out.
