ReadyNAS and Orbi interaction

Not sure if this problem is ReadyNAS related or Orbi related. One of my two RN214's is connected via ethernet to the Orbi satellite and is apparently having problems staying connected to other devices also connected to the Orbi satellite. I have not been able to catch all the error messages that show up on the RN214's display but they always end up with "Network Changed". While streaming video from the RN214 to my PC with an LCD 1080p TV as monitor (also connected to the Orbi satellite via ethernet), the video stops when the error messages appear. Sometimes the video resumes okay but sometimes it does not. I cannot use Netgear Genie to look into this as it will no longer run on my PC. This may be related to a problem with the PC and a bad .dll that I have not been able to get fixed.

    Hi BillReamy!

There had been issues with the Network interface of the ReadyNAS changing and was resolved using 6.9.1 which is now officially released. If your ReadyNAS is not updated to this version yet, I suggest you upgrade to this version.

If the issue persists, You might want to try using a different cable between the NAS and Orbi. Kindly provide us feedback if this solution helped to resolve the issue.

    Regards

I installed the 6.9.1 firmware but I am still seeing the same problem. I have never caught the first message to appear on the unit's display but it continues with "Network Changed" followed by "No IP Address". That usually repeats once or twice and then the unit gets its original IP address. This of course interrupts the video playback (either a DVD or a Blu-Ray ISO file using Power DVD 16) and causes the program to stop running. I noticed that in one of the Orbi threads that the Orbi system could be causing the problem.

        Hi BillReamy

Have you tried setting up a static IP for the NAS? Have you tried changing the cable connecting the NAS and the Orbi?

You can try changing the port where the NAS is connecting from the Orbi.

It would be better if you can contact NETGEAR Support for assistance on your Orbi and ReadyNAS if all steps will still not help resolve the issue

        Regards
