ReadyNAS DUO "Setup" Greyed Out
I've been using a ReadyNasDuo (v1) without issue for a couple of years. I've started having some very unusual and unexplained problems;
- Started by shares not being available on the network
- No errors visible on Raidar or on drives
- drives showed 0% of 0Mb used (2x 2TB drives, 37% used)
- cannot use Raidar to shutdown, simply does nothing
- CIFS then became disabled (not by me)
- then Dv1 showed 0Mb, Dv2 showed 37% used
- had to crash to force re-sync (re-sync in Raidar greyed out)
- re-sync successful but still cannot access shares
-today removed Raidar and installed latest version, detects ReadyNas, finds drives, volumes etc on main screen, all look healthy, but "setup & "browse" greyed out and cannot access.
- disabled firewalls etc, and all networkign appears ok, everything else working fine.
Any help appreciated

- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserMay try an OS reinstall. Could be a full OS partition.
- billm11AspirantThanks for your reply, but I'm not sure what you mean? OS on the ReadyNas? I'm assuming this is what you mean as I get the same error on different machines.
I'm (a) not sure how to do this and (b) not sure how I get access to the ReadyNAS to do it.
I've discovered if I hit the IP address of the NAS I can access the Shares directory (it sees none, there should be two) but nothing else - StephenBGuru - Experienced User
OS reinstall can be done from the duo front panel (http://www.readynas.com/kb/faq/boot/how ... _boot_menu) Note you have a duo v1, so you need to scroll down to the "Duo / NV / NV+ / X6/600" section. You need to be careful not to do a factory default by mistake (which would wipe your data).billm11 wrote: Thanks for your reply, but I'm not sure what you mean? OS on the ReadyNas? An OS reinstall will reset your admin password to netgear1, and will also reset the IP configuration to the default DHCP. Other settings and data should be preserved. - RobertDAspirantI have what sounds like the exact same problem....did you fix it in the end..???
- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserDo you have a v1 or a v2? (check this thread before answering: http://www.rnasguide.com/2012/01/09/how ... -or-nv-v2/ )
Did you try the OS reinstall?
