Readynas Duo (SPARC), unable to delete files in Windows
I have a Netgear Duo, and I use Win7 32-bit. When authenticated as Admin, I am unable to delete files from Windows Explorer*. The web interface to /shares doesn't have the file management page anymore, so I can't add/delete/move files from there anymore.
I have no problems deleting files using root SSH login.
*- The first deletion is always successful. Subsequent deletions yield this message:
"You need permission to perform this action.
You require permission from Unix User\root to make changes to this folder"
So it looks like even though I have admin auth'd, the system still wants root permissions to complete the request.

- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserYou are saying that https:/nasname/admin doesn't bring up Frontview?
Are these home shares or public shares (or both)? - GaWdLuminaryMy shares display correctly in a browser, but I have no ability to work with the files. Mild Digression:I do recall some time in the past that there was a web interface that allowed me to manipulate files, but that might have gone away with one firmware update or another.
If I connect to \\nasnamehere\shares using windows explorer, navigate to a folder, and try to delete a file or folder, it will work the first time. Subsequent attempts are fruitless and I receive the above message about Unix User\root needing to give me permission.
This is all done while authenticated as admin through the Explorer interface. - StephenBGuru - Experienced User

https://nasname/admin should launch frontview, which lets you reset share owners and permissions
https://nasname/shares should bring up a web interface for the shares themselves. I have occasionally had file deletions via explorer fail, and was able to delete them through this interface.
So you are saying both of these URLS fail? what version of Radiator are you using? - GaWdLuminary

I am using the most recent image-4.1.8.
All of my URLs work just fine. In spite of that, I'm still not able to actually manage my files...
Here's the /shares web interface:
So I can't add, remove, delete, move, Etc. My /backup folder shows the tools...cut, copy, delete, etc. So I tend to use windows explorer to try and manage my files. In both /shares/media/ and /shares/backup, I get the permissions error in explorer. - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserIt looks like you have WebDav enabled for the share. Try turning that off via the https://nasip/admin url. Select shares on the left, then click on the https icon next to your share. Uncheck the "Enable WebDAV support" control and click apply. That should get you back to the usual web interface.
You can also try resetting the file/folder owners and permissions by clicking on the "advanced options" tab. Set the owners and permissions the way you want them (I use "nobody" and "nogroup" and read/write for everything). check the "Set ownership and permission for existing..." box and the "Grant rename and delete privilege..." box, and then click apply on the bottom left. The checkbox next to "set ownership" will clear. After a bit there will be a pop-up indicating that the permissions have all been reset. - GaWdLuminaryI'll try resetting ownership, and have disabled WebDAV. Perhaps re-applying permissions will remove the root permissions errors.
Thanks, Stephen.
