ReadyNas Duo V2 FTP access for friend
Hi everyone,
I have had my NAS for a good 4 years or so but i never looked into giving FTP access to a friend of mine.
Last night i went into the NAS settings and enabled FTP. I then went into my router settings and made sure the ports were all open and then i tried logging in to my NAS via filezilla on my computer. I was able to login via the IP address and the Admin/Password standard username and password.
After i did i wanted to give access to my friend. He does not have a ReadyNAS Duo so he is not familiar with the NAS settings, but he said that there should be a way to create an username account for him that he can use with Filezilla on his computer across the country.
Honestly i don't know where this would be done.
I added him as a user via ReadyNas remote but even with that, the remote app on his mac can't find the NAS and connect.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

The procedure is to create a user account with a password on the NAS - this isn't specific to FTP, but it is used with FTP.
You can then set up access permissions to restrict what he can access (though probably you can accomplish the same result but only enabling FTP access on the shares you want him to see).
The details depend on whether your NAS is running 4.1.x firmware or 5.x.x firmware. What firmware is your NAS running?
