ReadyNAS Duo v2 x 2 / APC Back-UPS XS 1300 LCD
Hi all. I have two ReadyNAS Duo v2 NASs connected to a single APC Back-UPS XS 1300 LCD. I have the APC connected to Duo v2 #1 for shutdown signaling in case of a power outage.
- Is there some way to signal the other Duo v2, #2, when Duo v2 #1 gets the signal over USB that power is on battery?
- If not Duo v2-to-Duo v2 can both of them be signalled from a running Windows 2003 Server instead?
I searched the forums and couldn't come up with anything. The APC cable is the "simple signaling" type. What looks like a Cat 5 male connector wired to a USB male.

- This feature "network UPS monitoring" is not available on the Duo v2 at this time. It is one that many of the beta testers would be very keen to see. Currently I have my Duo v2 unit connected to my UPS but cannot shutdown the unit safely in the event of a power failure as the USB cable is connected to another of my NAS units. Hence I'm reluctant to put my Duo v2 into production use.
- Thanks. I would like to see this feature added someday. I would imagine it will be. The unit works great. Seems like the software has a ways to go compared to the older units.
- There is a more limited feature set and there are some more features planned (some are mentioned in the Comparison Chart so we'll have to see what happens.
