ReadyNAS Duo V2/ReadyDLNA TiVo HD playback
Ok I am new ReadyNas user and are having issues playing back video to my TiVo HD DVR
I just purchased the ReadyNAS DuoV2 and want to use it to stream media to my TiVo unit and have my computer offline. I have downloaded and installed the ReadyDLNA add-on and configured it and can see my TiVo unit it is activated and the status is ready.
If I go to my TIVO unit and go into the “Now Playing List” I can see the NAS link and when I select it shows me the folders in the shares but they are empty. I know there are videos in there but they are not showing up.
I can access pictures and music with no issues through the TiVo unit but cannot view or playback any video files(mp4, avi etc)
Can anyone assist here, would appreciate any feedback?
Cheers
Peter

- Where are you based?
I am in the UK and have the same problem. - CuriousMarkAspirantThe TiVo DVR will only show you the files it can play natively. Try an MPEG2, or a file from the TiVo itself and see if they show up. If you want to be able to play MP4 or AVI that are not in a format the TiVo DVR can digest, you will need a trans-coding program and a computer powerful enough to run it. Two transcoding server options are TiVo Desktop and kmttg. You can also use a standalone trans-coder like handbrake and place the resulting files on the NAS for later transfer and playback.
