ReadyNAS Duo/NV+ v2
I am new to this type of storage, that being said i have issues. I installed one 3 T drive into the system and set it up as Flex-Raid i then installed another 3 T drive. My question is should i be abl...
It depends what raid level you selected when you set up the volume.
Did you select Auto, RAID 0, RAID 1 or JBOD?
If you selected Auto (the default), you will have a RAID 1 volume with the addition of the second disk.
You will see the volume as a single volume and there will be no increase in size as you will have made the volume redundant by adding the second disk.
If you want 2 separate volumes ( 1 on each disk), you will need to factory default and recreate the flex raid setup as JBOD.
If you want a single large volume in RAID 0 you can do this, but it is not recommended as failure of either disk will destroy the entire volume and you will lose all the data on both. disks.
Please make sure you backup your data if you have any of these setups and back your data up before doing a factory default as this will destroy data on the Readynas.
