Readynas nv+ RND4000-100nas to Readynas nv+ RND4000-200nas
Hi, my ReadyNas nv+ RND4000-100nas PSU has failed. I am considering buyig a used RND4000-200nas. Can the drives be hot swapped from the 100-nas to the 200nas with no issues?

As long as the RND4000-200NAS Unit you will purchase has the 3 pronged socket like the 100NAS. There are RND2000-200NAS that uses a 4-PIN DC DIN AC plug which is the NV+v2.

You have to make sure you are getting the correct version for your RND4000 PSU replacement. Here's a link to know the differences of both versions.

To the best of my knowlege, all RND4000-100xxx are NV+ V1 and all RND4000-200xxx are NV+ V2, so the answer is no. While the drives can be re-used, you will lose all data.
Note that even if the NAS are compatible, you cannot hot swap the drives, you must do so with power removed.
I am not aware of Netgear offering a data recovery option using an NV+ V2 chassis with NV+ V1 drives. They do, however, offer (paid) recovery using an OS6 chassis. Another option is an adapter cable to use a standard ATX supply externally on your NV+ V1 to power it while you download the data to backup. If you can connect all 4 drives to a PC, there are other recovery options as well.
Personally, I think it is folly to buy a used NV+ V2 to replace an NV+ V1. Either buy a used NV+ V1, where the drives are compatible, or jump all the way to an OS6 based NAS.
Hi Sandshark, thx for the reply. I checked my Nas and its says RND4000 v3. So to clarify, if i remove the drives and putt the drives in same order, in the 200nas, (not sure what version it is) will that work?
I agree with Sandshark getting a V1 is better so migration of the disk is as easy as transferring the drives while the NAS is turned off. If you plan to change or upgrade to a higher model, it would be best to consider migrating to an OS 6 unit, though migration will be done by Support.
Apologies on my first post, I actually talked about the PSU not the migration of the disk :(
