ReadyNAS NV+ Seems really slow
I just bought a ReadyNAS NV+ 2x750 and am trying to transfer all of my data from a raid array to it so I can retire my old server. First I tried to use EMC to get all the files over to the NAS, but...

I was having the same slow down problem but now.....
Try this:
1) Go and get a Netgear Gigabit switch GS608
2) Make sure you have the jumbo frame setting ON for the NV+
3) Set your computer jumbo frame to 7936 (if you have a Mac, it's easy! I'm not sure about PC, sorry!)
4) Connect your computer & the NV+ to the GS608 Giga switch while they are off
5) Turn on the switch, NV+(it may need some time to boot up) & your computer
6) DONE!
My experience:
Before: Read ~ 12 to 14 MB/s Write ~ 10 to 13 MB/s
After: Read ~ 38 to 40 MB/s Write ~ 34 to 36 MB/s
I reckon the problem is the router having jumbo frame issue even it said it's a gigabit router! (Believe me, I try so many from different brands!)
I hope all these can help, good luck!
