ReadyNAS NV+ seen in RAIDar but can't browse or enter setup
Hello,
I have a ReadyNAS NV+ with 4 drive bays. I am using it at present with two hard disks running in X-RAID.
Everything was working fine till yesterday.
Today I wanted to copy some data from my Windows 7 based computer. I started RAIDar. NAS was visible as 192.168.1.101. This was the address that I had assigned to it. When I clicked browse. I got an error message saying that -
Windows cannot access \\192.168.1.101
Error code that I am getting - 0x80070035
The network path was not found.
I tried on a Windows XP computer then and on this also I got a similar error saying \\192.168.1.101 No network provider accepted the given network path.
I connected the NAS directly to the Windows XP computer and once again RAIDar saw the NAS and on clicking browse I again got the same error.
I can't open frontview either. The setup button opens up the browser window as always but gives the error as 'unable to connect'
The lights on NAS are all as they should be and everything shows fine in RAIDar too. I have tried shutting down the NAS and rebooting it using the front power button but the same problem remains.
I have a backup of the data so I don't mind doing a factory reset if I have to but how do I do it if I can't even access the setup ?

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredYou need to continue to hold the reset button when you press the power button, then release the power button but continue holding the reset button for about 5 seconds (OS Re-install) or 30 seconds (factory reset). Is this what you did?
- Shivam1AspirantI tried removing the harddisks deleted the partition and then inserted one of the harddisks. Now I am getting a new error saying 'corrupt root' in RAIDar and on the NAS itself I am getting the error saying 'Bad firmwar'.
I tried the OS-reinstall again and this time it started off fine but ended with the same error message as above. - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredWhen did you purchase this NV+? Was it purchased brand new?
You may wish to try USB Boot Recovery: http://www.readynas.com/kb/faq/boot/how_can_i_perform_a_boot_recovery_using_a_usb_flash_device - Shivam1AspirantThanks. The USB method worked and I did a Factory reset. Now the NAS is working and I can browse the folders too.
Good that I had a complete backup of my data that was there on NAS.
