Ready/NAS NV+
Hi Everyone,
I need support, i cannot join our Ready/NAS NV+ to our new domain, here the errors i encounter:
"Unsuccessful joining domain HHC"
"Could not resolve domain controller for this domain.HHC"
"Unsuccessful starting CIFS winbind service."
and i cannot input the complete domain name: hhc.hyattdir.net ; no more space for the last letter
it only accepts, hhc.hyattdir.ne
Can somebody help me?
Thank you and looking forward for support.

- NhellieVirtuosoA few more questions for you.
What is the firmware version that you are using? When inputting the domain name, have you tried using other browsers? What version of the AD are you trying to connect to? - donalddelunaAspirantDear Nhellie,
The firmware version is RAiDiator 4.1.14, I also tried Google chrome, it only allows 15 characters, Windows Server 2012 R2 - AD.
Kindly give me suggestions on how to join this to our network.
Thank you,
Donald - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredTry this:
In 2012 R2, Microsoft has SMB 1.0, 2.0 installed, but not running by default. Only version 3.02 is running by default. For SMB 1.0 the server service is not running, so this must be changed manually on the Windows 2012 R2 Server by changing a registry Key.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControl\Set\services\LanmanServer
The key "DependOnService" is set to "SamSS Srv2" by default, change this to 'SamSS Srv' and then try to join the NAS to the domain again.
Please note this is a workaround. Editing of the Registry key in the Windows Server is done so at your discretion and your own risk.
Not sure if it will work with Sparc, but it certainly won't work if you don't try this.
