ReadyNAS Pro 6 - Stuck on booting while checking fs
I have searched for similar errrors on here, but none seem to either work or be related as to my situation. My Pro 6 just started to freeze a couple days ago while it was running. I had updated i...

These errors are the real problem.
See if the file system can be mounted read-only with mount -o ro /dev/md127 /data That should be safe to try.
If the volume can be mounted, then the best approach is to backup all the data, do a factory default, and then restore the data from your backup.

It does mount. However, how do i get it off to another drive since I can only boot into Tech Support mode? I have an enclosure with 13.5 TB free but it is eSATA only.
Is there a way to get the unit to boot w/o trying to do anything with the /dev/md127 volume so I can then mount it in readonly and copy the data off across teh network?

The root fs check is where it is hanging. Can you (or someone rebuild that partition like mdgm / mdgm-ntgr) so it boots back up? I can then grab the data off it and then reset the NAS to factory and recreate the volume again (obviously).

You can try unmounting it with umount, and then see if it mounts as read-write. Just mounting read-only (as you did) can resolve some issues. If it does mount read-only then you could try a normal boot.
Another option is to disable quota on the BTRFS volume ( btrfs quota disable /data ) Then try a reboot.

I understand that is what you saw on the LCD panel. But running that check manually on the root in tech support mode didn't turn up any errors (and did not hang). So I don't think that the LCD screen is giving you the right information. Your issue appears to be with the data volume, not the root file system.
I cannot rebuild the OS partition (and I don't think it would change anything in this case). mdgm no longers works for Netgear, and hasn't engaged in this forum for some years.

So trying to mount the md127 in read-write mode causes the device to freeze. Read-only mode works.
How can I mount a 14 TB USB drive so it is r/w in this Tech Support mode?
