Readynas Pro not booting

Hi

I have a Ready Nas Pro Business (2010 unit I think) from a few years ago.  I recently had to reboot it due to a power cut.  When it now boots it starts, fans going full and just sits on "READYNAS" logo graphic.  Does not boot, show hard disks etc.  I tried to use the reset button on the back, but does not make a difference.  I have turned it off and on a few times, but does not make a difference.  I have left it on that logo for around an hour, but no difference.  I was using the latest ReadyNas OS of that series.

Any ideas ?

Thanks

Initally it would not power on.  I unplugged the power cable, plug it back in again, and then tried to turn on at back switch and front button.  Tried this like 20 - 30times and then suddendly it powered up.  Weirdly after that, no issue with powering up again.   I found you HAD to remove the power cable each time.  Once i got it powered on it failed to boot it was stuck on readynas logo.   Restarted a load more times and suddenly it worked.  Backed everything up - and now unit in bin!  As i also got an EOL on this unit from Netgear today, QNAP TS-253 Pro here I come :-)

    Hello punderwood75,

I have some questions to ask, I've summarized them below:

    • Is the NAS connected to your local network?
    • Do you have RAIDar installed to your computer that is on the same LAN where the NAS is? If so, does the RAIDar detect the NAS?
    • If RAIDar detects the NAS, what does it show? Please post a screenshot.
    • How many disks are inserted? What's the size of each?
    • Do you have back up copy of the files stored to the disks?

    Regards,

      Hi

Yes connected to local network, but cannot ping it so no raidr does not find it.  i dont think the box is even booting that far.

      No backup :(

      4 x 2TB drives in RAID5 with 1 spare

        Hello punderwood75,

Always have full back up of your files, we always strongly recommend that.

        How's the LED activity?

Please connect the NAS straight to the computer that has the RAIDar and see of RAIDar will detect it.
