You are right :)
Clearing cache will help resolve the issue on accessing the admin page.
There has been a fix as well you just need to connect your NAS to the internet and reboot it and wait for a few minutes for it to be applied.

I have noted in the support documents that HTTPS cannot be disabled. I probably need to clear the cache in Chrome, which is painful. However, HTTPS access works perfectly in Firefox and Safari.
