ReadyNAS antivirus stopped updating Readynas 3138 Firmware 6.9.3

My ReadyNAS stopped receiving antivirus updates on March 20th 2018. With ssh enabled I tried running freshclam and received the following message:

Does anyone have a suggestion how to address this issue?

  • I was able to address the issue by removing the mirrors.dat file to reset the download history.

     

    rm /var/lib/clamav/mirrors.dat

     

    Then ran freshclam again and the updates downloaded with out issue.

      Can you try pinging database.clamav.net from the NAS?

       

      database.clamav.net resolves to a different IP address for me, and pinging 74.115.25.14 times out.

  • The nas is able to connect to the internet to download firmware and other apps.

     

    If you try pinging database.clamav.net it is succeeding with no errors.

      Ok.  But in your earlier post it resolved to a different IP address

      Can't connect to port 80 of host database.clamav.net (IP: 74.115.25.14)

      The 74.x.x.x. address doesn't respond to ping.

       

      Perhaps try freshclam again, and see if it resolves the the same IP address as ping.

       

      Are you using multiple ethernet connections?  If so, which bonding mode are you using?

        Two nic ports are being used in bond mode IEEE 802.3ad LACP. If I try pinging 74.115.25.14 the screen shows 56 data bytes and the curser drops down a line  and nothing happens after that.

         

        root@NAS2:~# ping 74.115.25.14
        PING 74.115.25.14 (74.115.25.14): 56 data bytes

         

        Freshclam had this happen:
