ReadyNAS RN312 HDMI/USB keyboard login
Greetings,
Since these forums does not provide the "new thread" function to newcomers, I'm very sorry for hijacking this thread. Nevertheless, this is my problem.
I have purchased the ReadyNAS product and I have established admin name and password [name is admin, password is password]. My question is, when I want to log in to the NAS through keyboard via itself [hdmi for video/USB for keyboard], there's command line asking for: "login" and rightafter "password". I tried everything. I tried admin/administrator, even the name of the NAS. I also tried the default passwords, via 12345, password, everything I could find on the internet, etc. Nothing works,
Please advise,
regards
Bryan

Using SSH you can login from your PC e.g. Using Putty on Windows or the Terminal on Mac/Linux. - uplinkAspirantGreetings,
Thank You for Your fast reply! I will try it as soon as my disk array is finished rebuilding [~10 more minutes] and I can restart the nas. I enabled the SSH in the dashboard, but am unable to view anything from the HDMi yet, I'll update my post as soon as I get somewhere,
Thank You once more,
Regards
uplink - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredI don't think you need to reboot.
Press any key to wake up the HDMI display (it goes to sleep automatically after a period of inactivity) then try logging in again as the 'root' user. - uplinkAspirantOw that worked :) thank You! :) and now, since there's no linux GUi present, only command line and help, I'm returning to my windows environment. I just needed to know what's there [hoped there'll be some advanced GUi, I guess it's only installable, not already present], prolly I'll study up some commands in order to be more effective, when windows GUi isn't available,
Thank You all guys, You really helped me!
Regards
